EKA2L1 is an experimental Symbian OS emulator (EPOC Kernel Architecture 2 Level 1) that can run most applications and games. It aims to emulate the behavior of the EKA1 and EKA2 keels of Symbian OS, and can boot a large number of N-Gage-era Symbian apps and games.
It can accurately emulate most of the original N-Gage library, including games that weren't even fully functional on the hardware, such as Glimmerati, Ashen, Mile High Pinball, and Pathway to Glory. It can also improve the performance of some titles that ran less than optimally on the hardware. It's a great piece of software that helps preserve and promote one of the most misunderstood and underrated gaming platforms of its time, and makes it possible to play games that would have otherwise been lost to history.
The latest stable release can be downloaded from github Actions. This version includes a GUI for creating and deleting config files, as well as for changing the screen resolution and keyboard layout. It also has a reworked and improved key mapping system, and can now display the status of the CPU load in real-time.
